To-Do List Item #4.318: Go over to onegrapeshy and enter the contest for a copy of Jeannine Garsee's new book, Say the Word. Jeannine's being seriously generous and giving away THREE COPIES, so I can win and you guys will still have a chance. :)

I feel a bit as though I've been on a two-week vacation without the museums, restaurants, and light reading. Oh, wait--I had the light reading. I've been making my way through all of Agatha Christie's Ariadne Oliver mysteries. They're just what the doctor ordered (or what he would have if he'd thought of it!) for recuperation.

No, I haven't been sick for two weeks, just a few days, and I'm almost "all better." Son, though, was out for most of those school days, with two different bugs, so, naturally, my days have been a bit discombobulated, to put it technically.

Whenever I "come back" from one of these chunks of dislocated time, I'm always sure I'll just jump right back in to writing work with renewed energy. Ha! The desk needed to be "organized" into piles, a few phone calls need to be made, some papers filed, and the etceteras do go on.
So I'm being gentle with myself today, also figuring I will take a bit of couch time in the afternoon.

I will, also, however get back on track. My goal for this week (Friday or Sunday--like I said, "gentle") is to get my last critique pages out to my editor at Writer's Digest. This is all very doable, as long as I don't rush around like the proverbial chicken. (Picture one of
tamarak'sdancing chickens, but not nearly as cute and with no head.) So that is my plan. Small, but productive revision steps, mixed in with catching up on all the ducks that got out of their row the last ten days.

What's your week looking like? Happy, warm, and productive, I hope!

Glad to hear the bugs have disappeared. Best of luck with getting the pages out to your editor.

My week is looking open--what a wonderful feeling! But I better get off LJ so I can be productive.

So glad to hear you're feeling better! And that you're being gentle with yourself. Chasing down wayward ducks can be very tiring.

Good luck with those last critique pages! Exciting to hear you're getting so close to the end...

Thanks. I plan to dig in hard tomorrow and get through a round of feedback from my group. Then tying up some loose ends. Quack.
